Ardbeg Corryvreckan is a deep and mysterious Ardbeg, combining the bold, powerful and untamed nature of Ardbeg’s house style with an unexpected sweetness and finesse. We have combined French oak casks with classic Ardbeg matured in ex bourbon American oak casks to bring a unique contrast of extraordinary and unexpected tastes: Torrents of tarry coffee and waxy dark chocolate give way to sweet and sumptuous autumn fruits (blackberries and plump cherries) and overtones of peppered oak spices. Non chill-filtered, the taste is intense and mouth-feel deliciously chewy. Truly a peaty paradox if ever there was one!
A heady whirlpool of aromas, intensely peated yet always balanced. As the peat recedes, it is replaced by aromas of waxy dark chocolate, warm blackcurrants and muscovado sugar, with bursts of plump cherries and earthy pine needles.
